Baker pants feature a large L-shaped patch pocket on the front called a baker pocket, one on each side, and one flap and patch pocket on each side of the back. Studio D'Artisan's Baker pants have had the classic fit changed to a slightly tighter silhouette relative to actual vintage pants, so that it can be easily incorporated into daily wear and use. These pants are processed after sewing to give the garment a worn, vintage feel.

Baker pants are widely worn in work, basic training, factories, and other work as opposed to cargo pants for field battles. Baker pants are said to have been named because they were worn by bakers, but in fact there is no basis, and there are various theories such as that bakers used to commonly wear white coloured Baker pants to hide flour, or perhaps that the patch pocket looks like bread. We like to think the second account is true!
