[tabblock] [tab1: The Maggy pattern is a versatile colourwork waistcoat perfect for layering over dresses, blouses or t-shirts. Maggy was inspired by the simple, geometric recurring motifs found in Margaret, from [link: The Vintage Shetland Project=:=/products/the-vintage-shetland-project :link]. I have used just two motifs throughout. Rather than create another cardigan, I decided to create a colourwork waistcoat, providing warmth when needed but easy to remove when the temperature increases. The bands and welt are knitted in moss (seed) stitch echoing the finishing touches found on [link: Vaila=:=/products/pattern-vaila :link] and creating a neat, stylish edge. Buttons are added purely for decoration with press fasteners also used. Maggy is knitted in the round from the bottom up with a centre front steek worked throughout and additional armhole steeks are added when required.
